Holiday Hair

Being on the beach, in the sea or around the pool all day can play havoc with your hair.  How can you protect your hair from becoming dry and damaged?

http://www.miabeautyshop.com/babaria-aloe-vera-leave-in-non-rinse-conditioner-500ml-24-p.asp

I recommend a leave-in conditioner, spray it on to your hair before going to the beach or pool and you will find it helps to protect your hair from drying out. Then reapply after shampooing its amazing how much better your hair will feel.
To keep your hair in tip top condition it is important to use an intensive conditioning hair mask regularly to stop it from getting really dry and split

Are you beach ready?

It’s not too late to get your skin in shape and ready for showing off this summer. The secret is to exfoliate; this removes the dead skin cells that accumulate on the skins surface leaving your skin looking dull and feeling rough to the touch. Exfoliate and you will find your moisturiser is absorbed more easily, your tan stays longer and your skin looks and feels smooth and is more radiant.

Then pick a moisturiser, there are plenty on the market to choose from, they cater for all skin types. My favourite is the Rosa Mosqueta serum from Babaria, this rich moisturiser is absorbed quickly and easily and leaves my skin feeling irresistibly smooth.  For one that is not quite as intense there is the Rosa Mosqueta body milk equally as delicious but thinner in consistency. Another alternative and extremely popular is the Aloe Vera body cream or body milk both these are slightly lighter in texture than the Rosa Mosqueta, but again are easily absorbed and leave your skin feeling nourished and more radiant. All these moisturizers work really well as after sun creams, so, no need for extra luggage   allowance!

Spring Skin

Now winter jumpers are on there way to the back of your wardrobe, is your skin ready for spring?

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise.

Layers of dead skin build up on the skins surface leaving it dull and rough, making it much more difficult for your moisturiser to be absorbed, which is why exfoliating is recommended a couple of times a week. Once these dead skin cells are removed you will find your moisturiser is absorbed more easily and your skin will look and feel soft and radiant.

There are so many different moisturisers out there on the market that there is sure to be one that suits you.

Whether you prefer your body moisturiser to be a cream, a serum, a body milk or an oil, we believe Mia Beauty can help. We stock a wide selection of moisturisers in both Aloe Vera and the Musk Rose Oil range, sensibly priced, so you can afford to take care good care of your skin.

Happy New Year from Mia Beauty

A New Years Resolution Thats Easy To Stick To

Beautiful skin is a result of years of patience, care and discipline. All aspects of your life, ranging from lifestyle and exercise, diet and emotional health, ultimately show up on your skin. The way you tend to your skin over years reflects quite clearly in the fine lines that appear on your face as you mature.

Make it your New Years Resolution to start today, if you haven't already,

One of the most important things you can do is to protect your facial skin from direct sunlight. It is important that you learn to protect yourself adequately when in the sun with a minimum factor 15 sun protection.  I can’t stress enough how important a moisturiser is to your skins health, many moisturisers on the market now come with a SPF built in, so what excuse do you have?

A little care taken today will surely go a long way in determining that you look your very best tomorrow.

It’s that office party time again

During the winter, plenty of layers are the order of the day and covering most of our bodies means we often neglect our skin routine. (out of sight, out of mind).

Then Christmas arrives and with it, the office party. Now I don’t know about you but I know that my little black party dress looks so much nicer when I am sporting a tan. Now that my summer glow has faded to its usual pasty self I need help.

But before reaching for that bottle of fake tan EXFOLIATE.  It doesn’t take long and can be done either in the bath or shower. Exfoliating removes the build up of dead skin cells that accumulate on the surface of your skin leaving it dull and rough. After exfoliating you will find your moisturiser is more readily absorbed and your skin will feel so much nicer.

Go easy on the fake tan, a little goes a long way, make sure you apply evenly. Its far better to apply two applications to build your tan up gradually than try to do it in one go and don’t forget, don’t get dressed until it is fully absorbed into your skin or you will mark your clothes.

Keep your body moisturised and you will be surprised how long your tan can last.

Take Care of Your Face This Winter

Is your moisturiser doing enough to keep your skin at its best?

Mine isn’t and I bet most of us could do with a little help here and there.

As featured on the GMTV This Morning Programme you should be using a richer moisturiser in the winter to help protect your skin and to help prevent it from drying out. I recommend Aloe Vera Nourishing Cream from Babaria. It’s rich enough to help keep your skin moisturised, but is absorbed easily and doesn’t feel heavy, making this the ultimate moisturiser for the winter months.

Another tip from the GMTV This Morning Programme was to use facial oil once or twice a week for the ultimate skin care. Musk Rose Facial Oil from Babaria is almost 100% pure. It has the most amazing qualities, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst firming the skin. Musk Rose Oil is well known for its exceptional qualities, helping to repair sun damaged skin, acne scars, stretch marks, and post operative scaring. ( This oil does not have to be kept exclusively for the face, some pregnant women find it invaluable in helping to prevent stretch marks).

Choosing a Moisturiser

During the winter months our skin faces its worst time.

Both central heating and air conditioning contribute to our skin dehydrating. Cold temperatures outside stress the skin and weaken the skin’s protective barrier causing your skin to dry our further. Steamy hot showers although soothing, are harsh to the skin, washing off the skins natural oils and leaving it dry and vulnerable.

Moisturisers are the essential health drink of the skin. The glow and finesse we see on well-groomed skin is actually the result of an extensive skin care regimen, finished off with a detailed moisturising routine.
Moisturisers perform the very crucial functions of protecting the skin from free radicals, and keeping moisture locked in preventing your skin from drying out. It is for such reasons that you need to choose your moisturiser carefully.

The first thing you need to check for when selecting the moisturiser is that it suits your skin type. There are many on the market to choose from, something out there is perfect for you.  Make sure that it smells good, the moisturiser should feel extremely soft on your skin and should be absorbed easily without any greasiness. You don’t need to break the bank to take good care of your skin. Most of the top brands are so expensive because they spend millions advertising, passing the cost down to you.
